Mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (MSCs) and fibroblasts are present in normal tissues to support tissue homeostasis. Both share common pathways have a number of features, such as spindle-shaped morphology, connective localization, multipotency. In inflammation, nonspecific response injury, MSC the main players.
